**How does your job as Breeder Tomato at Rijk Zwaan look like?**:
Rijk Zwaan is one of the world’s leading players in the breeding of vegetable varieties. In the tomato department, we are focused on the development of new tomato varieties for the global market.
- As a Breeder Tomato, you work in a team that is focused on developing semi-determinate plum varieties for Mexico, Brazil, and Africa. You play a part in the development of the next generation of successful varieties, splitting your time between the office, open field, and greenhouse. You have freedom to operate to implement your own breeding strategy, using state-of-the-art tools available at Rijk Zwaan. You are responsible for all kinds of breeding tasks such as crossing block design, selection, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the various selection and variety trials both at home and abroad. You are also involved in analyzing the resulting data, looking for creative solutions to develop a strategy for this program within Rijk Zwaan.**Your Contribution**:
You are creative, flexible, solution-oriented and like to take initiatives. You do not give up easily and are a real team player who helps where necessary and can also work well autonomously. You enjoy analyzing data and looking for creative solutions. Furthermore, you work accurately and in a structured way and you have excellent communication and administrative skills. On your resume we can find the following:

- Demonstrable academic working and thinking level;
- Knowledge of breeding databases and marker technology.
- In view of the international nature of this role, you must be proficient in Portuguese and English. You must also be willing to travel abroad and within the country regularly.**What can you expect from us?**:
As Breeder Tomato, you will be part of the Brazilian Tomato Breeding team and functionally linked to the international Tomato Breeding team consisting of 80 specialists who focus on developing various new tomato varieties.
