**Geoscience Team**
- **What We Do**:
The development of an offshore wind farm begins with understanding ground conditions throughout the site area. This starts with geological assessment:

- Terrain and relevant hazards and geological processes.
- The various soil and rock types expected beneath the seabed.
- Spatial mapping of soil layers beneath the seabed.
- Mechanical properties of the various soils beneath the seabed.
- Identification of other ground-related hazards i.e. shallow gas and tectonic fault lines.

OWC is involved throughout the entire process, with in-house specialists who will guide and train you for each of the above processes.

**What you will be doing.**:

- Working as part of a global team on engineering and consultancy assignments.
- Contributing to geoscience interpretation and engineering solutions.
- Exposure to real project work immediately.
- Direct mentoring from our industry-leading experts.
- Writing and developing proposals for Brazilian and international projects.
- International business travel if required.

This role is based in our Rio De Janeiro office with hybrid, flexible and part-time working options.

**What we are looking for.**:

- Qualified with or working towards a graduate degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology.
- Proficiency in MS office package usage.
- Attention to detail and high level of numerical accuracy and the ability to prioritise work.
- Fluent communication and report writing skills in Portuguese and English.

The following are considered desirable:

- Fluency in Spanish.
- Knowledge of the offshore wind industry.
- Experience with GIS software such as Global Mapper, QGIS and/or ArcGIS.
