**Summary of Duties**:
Under the supervision of a migration officer, the case analyst will:

- Conduct research, including fact-finding interviews, to obtain and verify information related to case processing, quality assurance, and program integrity.
- Use electronic systems to verify requirements, document information, conduct research, complete verifications as well as communicate with contacts.
- Identify high profile, sensitive or problematic cases and brings these to the attention of the responsible officer or the Migration Program Manager.
- Contribute to activities related to program integrity, reporting and liaison, promotion and outreach, and Visa Application Centre (VAC) governance.
- Make recommendations for service delivery changes on own initiative or through working groups.
- Translate documents and interviews as required.
- Participate in training and development of colleagues.
- May supervise staff.
- Perform other duties as required.

**Area of Selection**:
Please note that the Consulate General of Canada in Sao Paulo will not reimburse travel or relocation costs under any circumstance and that it does not sponsor work authorizations directly or indirectly.

**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS**
- Language will be assessed further during the process.

**Education**:

- A bachelor's degree or undergraduate diploma attesting to 3 or more years of full-time studies from a legally recognized post secondary institution, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience*.
- _An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience could include a college _diploma or postsecondary school technical or professional diploma attesting 2 or more years of full-time studies, with the equivalent of at least 1 year of full-time work experience in an area related to immigration, international relations or the travel industry._

**Language**:

- An advanced proficiency level (reading, writing, comprehension and speaking) in English or French.
- An advanced proficiency level (reading, writing, comprehension and speaking) in Portuguese.
- _Language proficiency in English or French will be assessed during the process_

**Experience**:

- At least two (2) years of recent* experience working in an environment performing duties relevant to the position, including collecting, analyzing and/or presenting information.
- _Recent is defined as within the last 5 years_

**RATED REQUIREMENTS**

The Rated Requirements are part of the essential qualifications and are relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies. Methods of assessment for rated requirements may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview (online pre-recorded/live or in-person), role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

**Knowledge**:

- Knowledge of computer systems/software programs to input, process, output, store and/or control activities (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).

**Asset Qualifications**:

- Ability to work in both of Canada's official languages (English and French).
- Knowledge of a third language (other than English, French or Portuguese).
- A bachelor's degree or undergraduate diploma in a discipline related to immigration (e.g. international relations, law, etc.).
- Personal international migration experience, other than touristic (e.g. immigrant in Brazil, studies or work in a foreign country, etc.).
- Recent* work experience in an area related to immigration (e.g. in a foreign mission's visa/consular section, in an organization helping migrants or refugees, etc.), or risk assessment/fraud analysis, or stakeholder engagement/social media handling.
- _Recent is defined as within the last 5 years_

**Operational Requirements**:

- Willingness and ability to work at the office during mission's established working hours (the Migration Section's current working hours are: Monday-Thursday from 7:30 to 16:30, and Friday from 7:30 to 13:00).
- Willingness and ability to work occasional overtime after regular working hours/outside normal working hours (e.g. Friday afternoons, evenings and weekends) and potentially on short notice.
- The mission applies a combination of Brazilian and Canadian statutory holidays, which means you will be required to work on certain Brazilian holidays.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically within Brazil as required and potentially on short notice.
