As our Marine Surveyor, you will conduct marine surveying tasks for our clients. While specializing in damage surveys, hull and machinery investigations, our Surveyors are also involved in warranty, liability, cargo, bunker fuel disputes and offshore project work. We provide technical and expert witness support to our varied client base including ship owners, P&I Clubs, Underwriters and Solicitors.

**What you will be doing.**:

- Ensure all operations are conducted in full compliance with approved instructions, procedures and policies.
- Attend casualty investigations and determine the nature, extent and cause of damage.
- Estimate costs of repairs and subsequently compile reports for clients.
- Responsible for delivery of reports within a timeline established by management and clients.
- Liaise with clients to ensure project completion and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain own level of billable utilization of above 40%.
- Ensure that there is sufficient surveyor coverage for ongoing or planned work across the region.
- Assist with business development activities. Our clients includes ports, renewables companies, shipyards, vessel operators, charterers, P&I clubs, investors, banks and legal firms.
- Assist with the development and implementation of our renewables and maritime operations strategy.
- Contribute to the mentoring and training of other staff across the region.

This position will be based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. You must be legally entitled to live and work in Brazil. This position will require regular offshore attendance.

**What we are looking for.**:
Ideally, we are looking for an experienced Marine Surveyor. More specifically, we are looking for the following:

- Master Mariner (STCW class 1), Chief Engineer (STCW class 1) or equivalent with significant survey / maritime consultancy related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience such as Civil or Naval Engineering Master Degree.
- At least 7 years relevant experience within the Maritime / Offshore industry with exposure to vessel and machinery repairs and port development activities.
- Experience of the renewables sector beneficial.
- Knowledge of H&M and P&I claims beneficial.
