QA Analyst

**Purpose of Position**:

- Desktop PCs
- High performance computing (HPC) clusters
- Embedded apps on custom hardware (we also build the hardware)

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain baseline test environments and databases for required product versions and configurations
- Ensure test environments closely mirror end user's systems re: operating system, hardware configurations
- Create, set up, execute and report on test runs
- Create concise bug reports, including root cause analysis where possible
- Re-test fixed bugs including partial regression in affected areas and areas affected by the same data
- Create test cases to standard, including set up conditions, steps, expected results
- Participate in team activities, including task estimation, risk analysis, planning and retrospectives
- Act as the customer's advocate during team meetings
- Seek, use and promote best practice methodologies & tools to deliver quality software releases
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the software development process within the development team
- Ensure agreed practices are adhered to by the team
- Mentor Jr. staff

**Knowledge**:

- Comprehensive understanding of SDLC, including Agile methods
- Hands on experience with both black box and white (glass) box testing
- Test case / run / plan design
- Bug creation / management / reporting
- Relational databases and SQL queries
- Understanding of API functionality, language and tools
- Experience with testing / coding tools - Testrail, Jira, Git, Jenkins, or equivalents
- Risk analysis and mitigation strategies
- Understanding of networking setups, especially WiFi

**Nice to have**:

- Hands-on experience with high level languages such as Java, C++, Python, Ruby, C#, or Perl
- Experience with multiple operating systems - Linux, Unix, Windows, iOS, Android
- Experience with Hardware/Embedded testing
- Knowledge of or experience in the mining industry

**Experience**:

- 2+ years experience working as a Quality Assurance member in a functional agile team
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Math, Science or Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
