Ensures the temple ordinances are kept pure, recorded accurately and made available to worthy Church members by: Providing an environment where patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple. Maintaining and operating temples at standards established by the First Presidency. The Temple Recorder serves as an operating officer on matters pertaining to human resources, finance, recording, and physical facilities. The recorder prepares and monitors temple budget. Handles all confidential human resource functions such as employee relations, salary administration, management training, recruiting, and termination's. Restores certain confidential information to patrons. Gives general direction to administrative areas, the laundry and cafeteria, engineering section, housekeeping, grounds and for operation and maintenance of computer and audiovisual equipment. Oversees recruitment of volunteers. Authorizes all temple purchases. Conducts studies on budget planning, time and motion studies, systems of records flow, physical arrangements, public relations, organization statistics, etc. Oversees entire operation of Ordinance Recording. Is an expert in Church ordinance and sealing policies and is an adviser to the presidency on problem cases.

Assures that all records are accurately and efficiently kept by supervising the functions of the Temple Recording System. Assures a Quality work force of employees and volunteers by handling full human resource responsibilities. Sees that sacred monies are properly expended by serving as controller by preparing budgets and controlling all income and expenditures. Ensures validity and consistency of all ordinances performed by handling most sensitive and complex problems dealing with recommends and ordinances, questions regarding tern pie ordinances, and restoring confidential information, etc., and overseeing all recording functions. Maintains smooth operational flow by providing evaluations and statistical reports making systems recommendations, handling public relations and personnel relations. Assists temple presidency with ecclesiastical responsibilities by monitoring the performance of temple ordinances, attending presidency meetings, and doing special assignments as requested. In some temple locations, the recorder will have responsibilities to be a support recorder to another temple(s).

Bachelors Degree in business or related field with 6 years' professional-level work experience (including supervisory or management experience), or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Mission President calling may be considered as work experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, second language strongly preferred. Ecclesiastical understanding and experience such as Bishop, Stake President, High Councilor beneficial. Knowledge of temple ordinance and operational procedures, and temple volunteer experience helpful.
