**What You Will Do**

Description:
Kenvue is recruiting a R&D Materials Assistant Scientist Fixed Term to be based in São José dos Campos, Brazil. The Assistant Scientist will be part of a global initiative that handles current chemical ingredients portfolio. This person will implement global and regional projects to qualify alternative raw materials from strategic suppliers and evaluate their impact in formulas and process for existing marketed products within Kenvue Global portfolio (Baby Care, Oral Care, Compromised Skin Care, Beauty products), ensuring business reliability and cost improvements through science. This individual will coordinate technical projects implementation, interacting with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

Main responsibilities
- Qualify alternate raw material suppliers owning the end-to-end process for both customer service and supply issues. Understand the impact on the business for prioritization.
- Provide technical assessment, recommendation, and write reports.
- Assess impact of raw material changes to different types of formulations.
- Resolve issues with raw materials/products and processes. Identify improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate low and medium complexity projects with cross-functional teams, report metrics. Communicate clearly with internal and external organizations.
- Understand technical documentation and participate in technical discussions involving chemical raw materials.
- Generate technical data through exploratory laboratory batches and pilot plants to assess impact of raw material changes. Prepare metrics and reports. Data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

**What We Are Looking For**

Required Qualifications

Education: minimum Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field is required. A postgraduate degree or specialization in cosmetology will be considered a differential.

Minimum experience of 1 year in Research and Development or related areas in the Cosmetic, Pharmaceutical, Food or Chemical Industry is required.

An advanced level of English is required.

Good communication and collaboration skills with different areas and cultures; team work; ability to work on a cross-functional team in person or via teleconference as an individual contributor.]
