To join the team at Brazilian Biorenewables National Laboratory (LNBR)

Main Activities
- Design strategies and construct new strains of genetically modified microorganisms using DNA assembly, cloning and CRISPR-Cas9 techniques to produce chemicals from renewable sources and/or optimize productivity and yield of metabolic pathways
- Set up and perform experiments related to strain development (including adaptative evolution) and characterization ( ex. genomics, transcriptomic, metabolomic)
- Rigorous documentation of experimental procedures and data. Proficient data collection, management, and interpretation
- Supervise students and collaborators in the field
- Develop and submit proposals to funding agencies

Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in biotechnology or related areas. Post-doctoral experience preferred
- Experience with synthetic biology for the metabolic engineering of yeast
- Experience with lab automation would be a plus
- International experience in the field would be a plus
- Language proficiency: Fluent in English
