**Summary of Duties**:
IRCC Locally Engaged Migration Officer Development Program (LEMO-DP):

**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education**:
- A bachelor's degree from a legally registered university.
**Language**:
- An advanced proficiency level* (reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking) in English or French.
- An advanced proficiency level (reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking) in Portuguese.
- Language proficiency in English or French will be assessed during the process_
**Experience**:
- Recent* experience analyzing complex problems or issues and making recommendations or decisions
- Recent* experience composing correspondence, reports, briefings or presentations
- _Recent is defined as within the last 5 years_
**RATED REQUIREMENTS**
The Rated Requirements are part of the essential qualifications and are related to abilities and competencies. Methods of assessment for rated requirements may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview (online pre-recorded/live or in-person), role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

**Asset Qualifications**:
- Personal international migration experience, other than tourism (e.g. immigrant in Brazil, studies or work in a foreign country, etc.).
- Ability to work in both of Canada's official languages (= Advanced proficiency in both English and French).
- Recent** experience working in a diplomatic mission or international organization for the equivalent of at least one year on a full-time basis.
- Recent** experience supervising staff, and undertaking performance management and/or recruitment.
- Recent** experience in research, communication, data analysis/analytics, migration issues, or law.
- Recent** experience using knowledge of regulations, legislation, or other rules or guidelines to understand client inquiries and provide technical or expert advice.
- Recent** experience developing communications products, including written or video materials for websites, social media, or promotion campaigns and services.
- Possessing a good command of a Brazilian indigenous language, an African language, or Haitian Creole.
- Possessing knowledge of Brazil's special program for access to federal institutions of higher education (“Lei N˚14.723, or the previous Lei N˚ 12.711).

**Operational Requirements**:
- Work will be performed at The Consulate General of Canada in São Paulo (no working-from-home options).
- The mission applies a combination of Brazilian and Canadian statutory holidays, which means you will be required to work on certain Brazilian holidays.
- Willingness and ability to work at the office during the mission's established working hours (37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday).
- Willingness and ability to work overtime after regular working hours/outside normal working hours as required and on short notice.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure work environment.
- Ability to sustain prolonged periods of sitting and eye focus.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Brazil and internationally (including to Canada) as required.
**Conditions of Employment**:
Conditions of employment must be met or complied with before being appointed to a particular position, and are to be maintained throughout the employment while being the incumbent of this position.
- **Valid work authorization**:Ability to obtain and hold a valid work authorization covering the entire employment period.
- **Security screening**:Obtain and maintain a Reliability Status (security level) which includes a criminal and credit background check from the Government of Canada covering the entire employment period.
