Group Safety

ANZCO BioScience have an opportunity for a Group Safety & HR Manager to join the team. The purpose of this position will be to support ANZCO to deliver on the ANZCO Foods commitment to continue to improve its safety culture in the Australian operations (Bovogen Biologicals and Moregate Biotech), and to deliver quality HR Management support to the business units in Australia through a service delivery concept providing timely and professional HR planning, support and advice to managers and teams.

Critical skills required to deliver success in this role are; excellent communication and organisational skills, key safety leadership, independent decision making, collaborative and supportive to stakeholders, strategic thinking, and attention to details.

This full-time permanent role (based at our Melbourne facility) is a flexible position in terms of working from office (approx. 1-2 days per week) and home office. In addition, the role requires domestic interstate travel when required in support of Moregate in Brisbane. There will also be a requirement for some international travel to New Zealand, so a valid passport will be essential.

**Duties and Responsibilities will include**:

- Provide high visibility by actively working with site leaders to ensure the delivery of ANZCO's health and safety plans for each site and delivery on the programme of change with regards to health and safety
- Provide guidance and advice on performance risks and opportunities, build health and safety leadership capability within operations staff, and identify opportunities for cultural improvement
- Identify legislative requirements and work with operational mangers to ensure delivery against national and regional standards and legislative requirements
- Review all health and safety significant incident investigations and review and monitor corrective actions
- Oversee the review of all high consequence events, restoring control of the site, scoping the investigation, reviewing the investigation, and organising the audit of improvement controls
- Provide generalist HR advice and assistance to managers and employees
- Interpret employment legislation, regulations, policies, and employment agreements, providing accurate advice and information
- Provide managers with early advice and support in planning and undertaking change processes, change processes are based on market and business reality and ensures the effective engagement of key stakeholders
- Support and manage organisational change management, through the effective development of business cases, change proposals, employee consultation and communication
- Support Managers in the recruitment and attraction of "critical" to fill roles
- Manage Employment Relations issues through timely advice, issues are resolved ensuring legal compliance and taking a risk vs pragmatic approach to resolution
- Work with Operations Managers to ensure the plant(s) meet OH&S, environmental and regulatory standards

**Skills and Experience we are looking for**:

- Significant operations experience at a strategic and tactical level in a complex manufacturing / processing environment with the ability to provide the leadership and discipline necessary to create a productive, quality driven, and cost-conscious processing operation
- A successful track record of driving sustained operational improvement
- Experience in working in a compliance driven production environment including Health and Safety, Food Safety and Environmental knowledge
- Experienced in capital project management from concept to completion
- Track record in execution with a focus on continuous improvement
- Compliance and risk management experience
- Experience with building and developing people capability, engagement, leadership, performance management and change management
- Experience in resolving complex OH&S, Operational and employment relations issues
- Able to operate a speed ensuring quality delivery and execution
