Wabtec is in search of a Regional Communications Leader for Latin America to join the Company during an exciting period of transformation. We are passionate about the culture we are building. Communication is a support team that interacts with the entire organization and with the teams to create communication strategies.

How will you make a difference?

This role will develop, lead and implement internal communications strategies on behalf of the Company. Are you a natural storyteller and collaborative, proactive leader? This role is one of partnership, creativity, execution, and measurement.

This detail-oriented Communications Specialist will be responsible for providing varying degrees of strategic support for the communications and regional teams that aligns with business priorities. Support includes but is not limited to, events, select site communications, tradeshows, employee resource groups, people leader communication, and the Wabtec Intranet, social media development. This role reports directly to Wabtec’s Senior Business Communications Leader, and indirectly to Human Resources Director with key clients on the regional leadership teams.

- Experience working on a corporate communication team
- English Advanced/Fluent
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Understanding of Manufacturing/ Rail/Transport industry
- Highly process and detail-oriented with strong analytical/problem-solving skills
- Proactive approach to communications planning and execution.
- Strong project and relationship management skills
- Proven ability to manage changing requirements and short timelines without diminishing quality of execution or outcome.
- Strong storytelling skills
- Can-do attitude
- Ability to seamlessly navigate organizational hierarchies and structures in a matrix organization.
- Proven ability to work and prioritize independently; proactively manage complex problems guidance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Proficiency with video editing and website content management platforms also a plus.

What will your typical day look like?

Internal Wabtec Events and Communication
- Developing an in-depth knowledge of the sites, products, and services in the region
- Coordinating events for the company, which may include all-employee meetings, people-leader meetings, tradeshows, and community and other site-specific events that help drive brand recognition and employee engagement.
- Act as the Single Point Contact for all planning and management of site/state/country/regional events
- Supporting limited site
- and geography-specific communications; will be responsible for collecting, writing, and distributing routine and ad-hoc communications
- Partnering with employee resource group leads to promote each group, ensure alignment with overall company messaging and provide strategic communications counsel.
- Ad hoc support for communications and HR team - lead/support projects as needed.

External Interface and Communication Strategy
- Plan and co-ordinate communication related support for external industry events. Supporting logistics and execution for any tradeshows in the region
- Lead the communication strategy on Corporate Social Responsibility, identify potential engagement avenues and plan steps for deployment
- Take full ownership of regional content development for external channels in coordination with the corporate media relations and social media team.
