**The Role**: LNG Modeling Analyst

**The Location**: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

**The Team**: Commodity Insights Analytics is looking for an analyst to focus on quantitative modeling in support of the Global LNG offering. This role will involve maintaining and helping to build the growing modeling infrastructure that is used to support the expanding needs of the LNG team. The role will make use of your knowledge of financial and economic analysis, as well as developing complex quantitative tools, which could include: advanced formulas inside Excel, coding in Excel VBA, M/DAX inside Power BI, and/or programming in Python.

This exciting role will be pivotal in ensuring our team and our clients have the tools they need to build the most impactful insights from our data and research.

**Responsibilities**:
Update internal economic analysis tools (Excel and Power BI) with our latest team research.
Integrate the LNG modeling system with S&P Global’s oil and gas upstream development modeling system. This process requires ensuring that all Excel models are structured appropriately and have the most up-to-date financial, economic, and operating data held within our combined data delivery systems.
Research current tax law in all LNG export countries to ensure that we are using the latest legislation applicable.
Utilize the existing modeling system to respond to ad hoc queries from internal and external clients.
Build internal relationships that will help generate ideas for the integration of cross-commodity analysis to offer greater value to customers.

**What We’re Looking For**:
Advanced Excel skills are required.

**Experience with one or more of the following**: coding in Excel VBA, developing Power BI visualizations using M/DAX, and/or programming in Python.
Course work in financial analysis, including associated understanding of general accounting principles. Related experience in the workplace is preferable.
Experience with Excel VBA, Power BI, and/or Python is desired.
Strong verbal and written fluency in English is essential; knowledge of other languages seen favorably.
Excellent communication, concise written style, and strong presentation skills to provide insightful analysis in compelling and straightforward content.
Motivation to seek out new assignments and act on opportunities.
Comfortable with high levels of individual responsibility and accountability.
Demonstrates personal integrity and an openness to continually learn and develop.
