The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Ensure that negotiations and procurement are carried out professionally regarding commercial, legal and ethical aspects and in accordance with company instructions, rules and regulations.- Compliance oriented.- Collect relevant product knowledge of the Supplier market and act as local point between Suppliers and Internal Stakeholders regarding both products and services.- Request and evaluate quotations.- Negotiate with suppliers and place orders in accordance with current instructions.- Category Management for business area indirect material.- Managing your own supplier base.- Ensure optimal procurement by market scanning.- Carry out contract negotiating for optimizing purchase contracts.- Follow-up purchase orders to ensure that delivery takes place as agreed.- Deal with rejected and non-conforming components according to instructions.- Build supplier relationship and work with supplier development.- Contract management.- Establish and continuously develop strategies for your supplier base and category.- Suppliers base development.- Drive cross-functional teams focusing on effectiveness and cost savings.- Assure that Valmet purchasing strategy, purchasing policy and procedures are fulfilled.

In addition, to succeed in this position, you should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Administration.- Solid Purchase experience.- Experience in other Office software (e.g. Power Point, Word, Power BI) and advanced Excel.- Technical background in engineering (differential)- Knowledge in Lean processes and execution of improvements (differential).- Have acted as Project and Facilities Buyer (differential).- Experience with strategic sourcing process.- Experience working with ERP (Work with BaaN or SAP as differential).- Advanced English (written and oral, is essential).- Fluent Portuguese.- Strong influencing, good communication skills, proactivity, interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to achieve results in a matrix, global organization it is important for this position.- Desirable skills: well-structured and result-oriented, experience from project management and experience from leading others.
