Recognizes and evaluate sales, promotional campaigns, and other opportunities to secure reduced prices. Assesses supplier's products to ensure that they comply with specifications and meet the organization's quality standards.
**This role in summary**:
We are seeking a Director, Procurement Project Management to oversee projects critical to the growth of Whirlpool in the Latin American region. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Procurement, you'll be tasked with driving cross-enterprise supply chain initiatives and pioneering strategic sourcing strategies. Your role will be pivotal as you collaborate across dynamic teams, nurturing vital relationships with our valued suppliers, and spearheading innovative supply chain project management endeavors.
Leveraging a data driven approach and with a focus on implementing cutting-edge continuous improvement tools, you will mature our supply chain operations, maximizing efficiency and effectiveness. Your expertise in project management, cost optimization, and process enhancement will be instrumental in ensuring the flawless execution and delivery of procurement projects, all while championing lean principles and pioneering world-class sourcing processes.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Initiate and develop comprehensive procurement project plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements and improve overall procurement efficiency and productivity.
- Responsible for helping set objectives aligned to business’ goals, coordinating external procurement activities, and monitoring KPIs against strategic goals.
- Coach, lead and develop team members within the procurement team, identifying high potential talent for succession opportunities.
- Develop and deliver the sourcing vision and strategy to meet business goals for the Latin America region.
- Execute projects in adherence to established timelines, budgets, and quality standards while monitoring and reporting on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks as needed.
- Collaborate with Executive Leadership team, to ensure cross-functional alignment and support for strategic objectives.
- Continuously monitor and analyze performance metrics, making data-driven decisions to drive improvement and facilitate effective communication with key stakeholders and project team members to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Evaluates strategies based on supplier market analysis, category analysis and category risk analysis while adapting to changing market conditions.
- Actively develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, capture insights from suppliers to accelerate innovation while managing risk and compliance.
- Build business case recommendations and ensures effective risk and compliance management measurement.
- Support negotiations of strategic contracts, analyze supplier bids and proposals conducting advanced, multivariable cost regression analyses.
- Support teams or managers through complex negotiations across direct and indirect categories.
**Minimum requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, operational or business related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Supply Management, Sourcing, Procurement, and leading projects.
- 4+ years of experience at the executive level managing complex teams and supporting cross-functional partnerships.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or similar methodologies and tools to drive continuous improvement.
- Proven track record of working with multiple stakeholders to deliver results in a highly matrixed organization.
- Fluent in English.
**Preferred skills and experiences**:
- Ideally 15 years of experience in operational functions, including procurement/sourcing, preferably in a complex manufacturing-oriented organization.
- Demonstrated experience with leading Supply chain or procurement projects throughout Latin America
- Change management experience.
- Global procurement project management experience is a plus
