A leading defense company based in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an exceptional
Principal Engineer
to act as the
Technical Leader for Guidance and Control (G&C) systems
. This is a strategic, high-impact and hands-on role with an explicit mandate to establish and lead new G&C capabilities, mentor engineers, and drive the future of guided weapon platforms.
The Role: Technical Authority & Capability Builder
As the Principal Engineer for G&C, you will be the technical backbone of the department, reporting directly to the Department Manager. Your responsibilities include:
G&C Technical Leadership:
Serving as the technical authority over the full G&C lifecycle, including
Modeling & Simulation (MIL/SIL/PIL)
,
Guidance & Control Algorithms
,
Tracking Systems
, and
Estimation Filters (EKF/KF)
.
R&D and Capability Establishment:
Leading the investigation of
emerging technologies
and the implementation of futuristic methodologies. You will be responsible for
establishing new G&C infrastructure, tools, and R&D labs
.
Flight Test Oversight:
Managing all phases of flight test campaigns, including pre-flight preparation, test execution, and rigorous
post-flight analysis
.
Mentorship and Team Building:
Providing technical guidance and mentoring to engineers across all levels (Junior to Senior), helping to cultivate a high-performing team.
Requirements for Success
Experience:
10–15 years
of experience in the development of
guided weapon systems
, missiles, or relevant defense technologies.
Leadership:
A minimum of
5 years of experience in engineering management and technical leadership
roles, with a proven ability to lead teams and establish new capabilities.
Expertise:
Deep knowledge of the entire
Systems Engineering Process
(qualification, acceptance, flight testing) and a strong background in
flight dynamics, embedded systems, and missile control
.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
