Job Title: Senior Java Engineer (Search and Relevancy Engineer)

Overview:

We are looking for experienced Software Engineers to help develop and improve our search and data processing systems. You'll work with tools like Elasticsearch, Spring Framework, Kafka, and APIs in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, build, and maintain search and data processing systems using Elastic, Spring, Kafka, and APIs.
- Improve performance and scalability of our infrastructure to support growing data and user activity.
- Work with teams to define and deliver new product features.
- Ensure data is properly indexed and optimized for fast, accurate search.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance to keep systems reliable and available.
- Participate in code reviews and follow high coding standards.
- Keep up with industry trends and new technologies.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Support junior team members and help guide their growth.

Requirements:

- 8-10 years of experience in software engineering.
- Strong experience with Elasticsearch and search technologies.
- Proficient in Java and Java batch processing.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka and distributed messaging systems.
- Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with CI/CD, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and microservices.

Nice to Have:

- Experience with other search engines and NoSQL databases.
- Some experience coordinating small teams is a plus.
- Exposure to machine learning or data analytics.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices.
