Liferay Developer

Note:
This is a
3-month contract position with the possibility of extension , based on performance and project needs.
You bring to Applaudo the following competencies:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
6+ years of professional experience working with
Java-based platforms .
Hands-on experience with
Liferay DXP
as both administrator and developer.
Proven experience performing
Liferay upgrades, deployments, and DevOps-related tasks .
Strong fundamentals in
Java, JSP, and Portlet development .
Experience integrating
Okta with Liferay , including
OIDC-based authentication and user synchronization .
Solid background in
performance tuning and remediation of technical debt
in enterprise portals.
Familiarity with version control systems ( Git ).
Experience with
CI/CD pipelines
and containerized environments.
English is a requirement, as you will be working directly with US-based clients.
Experience working in Linux environments with Tomcat and MySQL is a plus.
Working knowledge of REST API integrations and Spring-based services supporting Liferay is a plus.
You will be accountable for the following responsibilities:
Lead and support initiatives to address accumulated technical debt, including Liferay DXP upgrades and performance improvements.
Implement and maintain identity integrations between Liferay and Okta, migrating authentication flows to OIDC standards.
Manage DevOps processes for Liferay DXP deployments, ensuring stable and repeatable releases.
Contribute to custom portal development as required by the business.
Collaborate in architectural refinement and solution design for scalable, high-traffic environments.
Apply agile practices while working independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Participate in documentation efforts throughout the SDLC to ensure platform maintainability and knowledge continuity.
Qualifications
Hands-on Liferay DXP experience.
Proven Liferay DevOps for upgrades and deployments.
Liferay performance tuning.
Okta integration experience.
