Overview

A US-based financial services organization is seeking an experienced Snowflake Data Engineer to support the ongoing development and optimization of its cloud data platform. This role will focus on building and maintaining scalable ETL pipelines, enforcing strong data governance practices, and preparing the enterprise data warehouse to leverage advanced capabilities such as Snowflake Cortex and Snowflake Intelligence.

This is a hands-on engineering role working closely with analytics, data science, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality, secure, and analytics-ready data.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, build, and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines within Snowflake to support analytics and downstream use cases
- Develop and maintain scalable data models to support reporting, BI, and advanced AI/ML workloads
- Implement and enforce data governance best practices, including data quality, lineage, access controls, and compliance requirements
- Prepare and structure data to enable future adoption of Snowflake Cortex and Snowflake Intelligence capabilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Monitor and improve performance, cost efficiency, and reliability of the Snowflake data warehouse
- Support documentation and knowledge sharing across the data engineering function

Required Qualifications

- Strong hands-on experience as a Data Engineer working with Snowflake in production environments
- Proven experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines at scale
- Solid understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and security best practices
- Experience working in regulated or financial services environments is strongly preferred
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with cloud-based data warehouses

Preferred / Advantageous Skills

- Experience with modern data tools such as:
- dbt
- Fivetran
- Matillion
- Apache Airflow
- Experience collaborating with data science or AI teams
