About the Role We're hiring our first Solutions Engineer to build the implementation layer between Sales, Customer Success, and our product. This is not a traditional "sales engineer" role. You will ship production code, build internal tooling, and automate the workflows that turn messy enterprise enrollment data into clean, reliable employee access. Your core mission is data validity and member access correctness. When a customer (or partner) sends eligibility or enrollment data, it should reliably result in the right employees being able to activate and use Yuna, with clear visibility into exceptions and near-zero manual cleanup. This role supports two motions: direct employer customers and channel/partner distribution. It is not heavily customer-facing, but you will join technical calls when needed to unblock onboarding, integrations, and data flow questions. What You'll Do You'll build the implementation and automation layer that turns partner/customer data into correct employee access and clean operations. Core responsibilities: - Build and own customer/partner data pipelines You'll set up and maintain file- and API-based data feeds (SFTP, CSV/JSON, occasional EDI-style formats), including parsing, mapping, validation, dedupe, reconciliation, backfills, and auditability. - Data validity and exception handling You'll define validation rules, produce clear error reasons, and build the workflows that let ops teams resolve issues fast. You'll own retries, idempotency, and "boring reliability." - Internal tools (Retool-first) You'll build internal dashboards and workflows used daily by Sales and Customer Success: onboarding checklists, cohort/change tracking, exception queues, rollout status, and integration health. - Automation across GTM systems You'll automate operational work across HubSpot and internal systems (workflows, enrichment, routing, alerts). You'll also build lightweight tools like Slack bots / forms that reduce friction and improve data quality. - Occasional technical calls You'll join customer/partner calls when needed to unblock onboarding (data format, transfer method, constraints, security questions), then convert that learning into templates, tooling, and automation. Skills & Experience We're Looking For - Strong scripting ability in one language (JavaScript/TypeScript or Python). - Strong SQL and comfort debugging data issues end-to-end. - Proven experience shipping production systems (ownership matters more than title). - Experience building ingestion/integration pipelines: file-based (SFTP) and/or API-based feeds. - Comfortable designing for reliability: validation, retries, idempotency, observability, and clear failure handling. - Experience building internal tools (Retool or similar) that operators use daily. Strong positives - SFTP setup + automation (key management, directory conventions, scheduling, file lifecycle). - EDI exposure (834/benefits-style feeds) or "EDI-adjacent" structured partner data. - HubSpot APIs/workflows, CRM data hygiene, and automation patterns. - Slack APIs / Slack bots for internal ops workflows. - Web scraping / enrichment workflows when data is missing or inconsistent. - Google ecosystem familiarity (Firestore, GCP-style services, Google Drive-based ops workflows). What you don't need to be - A React/front-end specialist. Internal tools should be clean and functional, not consumer-grade UI. - A full-time pre-sales SE. This is a builder role with occasional calls, not daily demos. Preferred Background You've worked on an employer-distributed product where access depends on external enrollment/eligibility-style data, and you've built systems that keep it correct over time (cohorts, adds/terms, open enrollment windows, partner attribution, downstream employer mapping). Domain experience is a plus, but the real requirement is: you've built and owned integration/pipeline systems that must be correct and operable. What Success Looks Like (6–12 Months) Eligibility and enrollment data consistently results in correct employee access with minimal manual intervention. Data validity is measurable, visible, and improving through clear validation rules, dashboards, and exception handling. Time-to-launch from closed-won to live is faster and more predictable. Customer Success spends time driving adoption and outcomes, not cleaning data or chasing files. Onboarding across direct and channel/partner motions feels repeatable, monitored, and operationally boring.
