Lead Turbomachinery Engineer

This role is part of the ICM Group's Offshore & Onshore Support team in Brazil.

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our efforts in optimizing the performance and reliability of key rotating equipment on offshore platforms. If you have a passion for turbomachinery, including gas turbines, compressors, pumps, and control systems—and know how to maintain them effectively in high-pressure environments—this position may be an excellent fit for you.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Act as the go-to expert for turbomachinery, encompassing gas turbines, compressors, pumps, and control systems.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of performance issues and equipment failures.
  • Develop informed maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and enhance reliability.
  • Oversee major overhauls, upgrades, and inspections, working closely with OEMs and vendors.
  • Collaborate with offshore teams to plan and execute maintenance campaigns.
  • Review technical documentation to ensure compliance and adherence to safety standards.
  • Support long-term planning, CAPEX projects, and asset optimization efforts.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of technical excellence.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience with turbomachinery in oil & gas, preferably in offshore environments.
  • Strong understanding of rotating equipment in mature field operations.
  • Solid experience with OEM systems (Solar Turbines, Siemens, GE, MAN, etc.).
  • Knowledge of condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and performance tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong team-player mindset, with the ability to work across cultures and time zones.
  • Fluency in English (Portuguese is a significant advantage).
