About the role:

Role: Data Engineer

Location: São Paulo, Brazil

Duration: 6 months

Salary: $ 2200 USD monthly (FTE)

We're looking for a Data Engineer with backend experience to join a high-impact engineering team building large-scale user-facing products.

What You'll Do

- Build and enhance backend features end to end: requirements, implementation, automated testing, A/B testing, and launch validation.
- Collaborate with product, design, and client teams to deliver complete functionality.
- Develop reliable, maintainable backend components used by other engineers.
- Work on large-scale, distributed, and data-intensive systems.

What We're Looking For

- 3+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Java backend skills (REST APIs, caching, storage, data processing).
- Hands-on Big Data experience : Hadoop, Spark, MapReduce (active migration from MR → Spark).
- Experience in consumer apps, social media, or large-scale platforms (not financial systems).
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (fluent required) and collaborate effectively across global teams.
