Talent Management Position

This role focuses on managing a team of professionals to optimize their skills and performance. As a Talent Manager, you will be responsible for developing relationships with each consultant to understand their strengths, development objectives, personal preferences, and career goals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Engaging consultants on development needs and areas for training using the performance management process;
• Developing relationships with consultants and establishing yourself as a trusted advisor;
• Assisting consultants in directing them towards resources for career advice;
• Escalating employee relations issues or questions around general Human Capital operations;
• Monitoring work-life-quality issues and escalating when necessary.

Main Responsibilities

• Talent Management: Engage consultants on development needs and areas for training using the performance management process; develop relationships with each consultant and establish yourself as a trusted advisor; assist consultants in directing them towards resources for career advice; escalate employee relations issues or questions around general Human Capital operations; monitor work-life-quality issues and escalate when necessary.
• Project Staffing: Understand project requirements and nuances; liaise with project team leaders to determine staffing needs; collect relevant details from Partners and Practice Group TMs on projects to be staffed; anticipate capacity issues and manage consultant and Partner expectations accordingly; communicate staffing outcomes to consultants in an empathetic manner; track mobility issues, holidays, trainings, background checks, and other ad-hoc tasks.
• Consultant Development and Performance Management: Understand the performance management framework and competency model; coordinate with the Learning and Development team on appropriate training for consultants; read all performance appraisals and follow-up on any issues or performance flags with project teams and managers; coordinate, attend, and contribute to annual Career Review meetings for your consultant populations.
• Data, Analysis, and Reporting: Review weekly utilization reports and cross-reference with systems to ensure latest information is captured; assist with assembling the project pipeline and consultant availability reports; help prepare documents and exhibits for senior leadership meetings (using Excel and PowerPoint); assist with analyzing performance outcome results; conduct ad-hoc analyses and reporting as needed; demonstrate capability in using enterprise resource management tools and performance systems.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience;
• 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in a fast-paced and dynamic client services business environment;
• Management consulting and/or Human Resources experience preferred;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to tailor the message to fit the audience;
• Credible, highly professional, able to communicate and negotiate effectively while managing diverse personalities, cultures, and backgrounds;
• Self-motivated and proactive; someone who takes full ownership of her/his work and is flexible to prioritize or reprioritize as needed;
• Comfortable working with data (Excel, PowerPoint, and enterprise resource management software).
