Senior Backend Developer Position

This is a senior backend developer role that requires significant experience with PHP and Laravel. As a senior member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing services that handle millions of requests.

Main Responsibilities:
  • You've worked on a product development team that has delivered features and services from beginning to end.
  • You've designed and developed services that handle millions of requests.
  • You're able to innovate through iteration by breaking down product features into shippable value increments.
  • You've worked closely with engineering peers, product and design members to create high-quality products that customers love to use.
  • You've successfully helped your teams prioritize work to maximize quality, stability, and project delivery.
  • Through code reviews and peer feedback, you advocate for high standards and look for ways to improve the overall quality of our codebase.
  • You take a collaborative approach to architecture, technical patterns, and complex problems.
Key Requirements:
  • 5+ years of professional experience with PHP, including PHP 8+ and the modern PHP ecosystem.
  • Deep experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel.
  • 4+ years of experience working on large-scale SaaS applications (no CMS, please).
  • Well-versed in various design patterns and know where to apply them.
  • Deep experience crafting optimized RDBMS queries.
  • Experience leading technical discovery, architectural planning, and technical scoping on your team.
  • A high bar for quality and hold yourself and your peers accountable to it.
  • Proactive in taking on challenges from start to finish.
Your Key Tasks:
  • Your time will be divided between new feature development, UI/UX improvements, repaying technical debt, and improving existing features.
  • You'll prioritize and work on multiple projects from start to finish, balancing quality, stability, and project delivery.
  • You'll review your teammates' work, help set high standards, and look for ways to improve the overall quality of our codebase.
  • You'll work within your team to achieve technical excellence by taking a collaborative approach to architecture, technical patterns, and complex problems.
