Job Description

The primary goal of this position is to understand the company's data-related needs and develop a high-performance, self-service CDP (Customer Data Platform) with robust pipelines. This includes ensuring reliability, scalability, performance, security, data quality, profiling, documentation, lineage, and more.

  • Be a technical reference for your team;
  • Oversee the development and implementation of data pipelines and platform solutions, ensuring quality, reliability, and scalability;
  • Be willing to be hands-on when needed;
  • Discuss business and engineering requirements with analysts, engineers, and stakeholders on a deep level and anticipate risks;
  • Build a great team by recruiting talented individuals and helping them grow;
  • Evaluate the performance of team members, provide regular feedback, and identify opportunities for their development;
  • Set clear goals and objectives for the team and ensure they are aligned with overall business objectives;
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels of the organization to understand their requirements or explain technical concepts;
  • Advocate for the value of data analytics and engineering within the organization and foster a data-driven culture.
Responsibilities:
  • Recognize that people are the most important asset and have extensive experience in people and careers management within the data career field.
  • Be a very technical manager who can discuss data event-driven architecture in a modern stack paradigm;
  • Have a background in both Data Platform and Data Pipelines;
  • Be an expert in dimensional data modeling (star schema or snowflake) with knowledge of technical concepts and best implementation practices;
  • Be proficient in SQL and Python and passionate about writing clean, performant, and maintainable code;
  • Understand the data lifecycle and concepts such as architecture, lineage, governance, privacy, etc.
  • Be fluent in cloud infrastructure, such as AWS and GCP;
  • Have experience in designing and implementing event-driven architectures;
  • Keep up with the evolution of technologies and best practices in the data engineering domain and apply them in the team's routine;
  • Have good communication skills to collaborate with multiple stakeholders (Engineering, Product, Design, Data, and Ops teams)
  • Be able to deal with uncertainty;
  • Define the strategic roadmap connecting with business priorities and evolving tech capabilities as setting the right expectations with stakeholders;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory for this position.
