Position OverviewHMH Brazil is in search of a driven Mechanical Engineer to fulfill the role of Technical Support Engineer. This position is vital for delivering onshore technical assistance, managing equipment and system installation and commissioning, and ensuring effective maintenance operations offshore.
Key Responsibilities- Engage directly with customers to accurately define the technical scope of work and provide essential input for service quotations.
- Oversee maintenance, installation, and commissioning of drilling equipment and systems, ensuring meticulous technical planning and hands-on execution.
- Offer technical support to external clients, various internal departments, and field service engineers, ensuring prompt and qualified assistance.
- Contribute to product innovation by conducting technical reviews and providing valuable insights on upgrades and retrofits based on operational feedback.
- Develop comprehensive technical reports, documenting key findings, performing root cause analysis, and capturing lessons learned.
- Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and conduct technical training for customers and team members.
- Adhere to global procedures and best practices to ensure optimal performance and safety in all tasks.
- Customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and fostering long-term relationships.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficient in problem-solving, fault-finding, and troubleshooting, with the ability to analyze complex issues and devise innovative solutions.
- Excellent analytical skills for assessing equipment performance and implementing corrective measures.
- Self-motivated learner, adept at identifying knowledge gaps and seeking clarification.
- Fluency in English is required; advanced Spanish is a plus.
- Solid understanding of machinery mechanics, hydraulics, and structural engineering principles.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution (or equivalent).
- Industrial mechanical technician degree and postgraduate studies in maintenance are advantageous.
- Preferred experience in industrial mechanical maintenance of heavy equipment and drilling rig operations.
- Active CREA (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia) registration.
- Willingness to undertake occasional offshore and on-site assignments, including domestic and international travel for hands-on work.
