The Drilling Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe operation of drilling equipment on offshore rigs. This role involves coordinating with the drilling crew to ensure smooth operations, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to well control procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in pre-tour meetings with the drilling crew to discuss daily objectives and plans.
- Maintain a clean and organized drill floor, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working order.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on drilling equipment and report any deviations or issues.
- Assist with equipment tests and training exercises to ensure crew members are familiar with BOP equipment and well control procedures.
- Direct and assist as needed in drilling operations, performing technical calculations required to carry out drilling operations.
- Monitor and interpret downhole conditions, recognizing basic warning signs of kick and taking appropriate action.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A high school diploma or relevant craft certificate is required; a trade school or university degree is preferred.
- Advanced English language skills are necessary for effective communication.
- Prior experience in offshore rig operations, particularly with Cyber Driller systems, is highly desirable.
- A valid Well Control certificate is mandatory, as per the standard defined on the training matrix.
