Job Summary:

Amentum is seeking an experienced Antarctic Operations Manager to oversee traverse operations in extreme environments. The successful candidate will lead a team of highly skilled individuals, ensuring the safe and efficient completion of traverse missions.

About the Job:

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of traverse staff, providing guidance and oversight to ensure the successful completion of traverse missions.

  • Develop and implement operational plans, taking into account environmental factors, logistical considerations, and scientific objectives.

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining a culture of safety within the team.

  • Maintain open communication channels with stakeholders, including ASC management, NSF personnel, and other agencies.

  • Co-ordinate and support Search and Rescue (SAR) missions or alternative emergency tasking along the route.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum four years' experience in a polar guide, management, or field operations role, with two years' experience in a supervisory or leadership position.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in remote and isolated environments, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
