As a key member of our Finance team, you will be responsible for calculating and reviewing corporation income tax calculations, managing tax filings, and ensuring timely compliance with local tax requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Calculating and reviewing corporation income tax calculations prepared internally or by external providers.
  • Managing tax filings, including PIS/COFINS, ICMS, IPI, IOF, and EFD, and reviewing calculations.
  • Ensuring all tax filings are made timely and in accordance with local tax requirements.
  • Reviewing and supervising the preparation of tax return payments and estimated tax payments for direct and indirect taxes.
  • Preparing IFRS and local GAAP tax provisions.
  • Reviewing and calculating uncertain tax positions under IFRIC 23.
  • Preparing account reconciliations of tax accounts.
  • Managing, reviewing, or preparing responses to eCAC notices, tax assessments, notices, and audits.
  • Monitoring legislation changes and assessing their impact on the company, providing guidance to comply with new tax requirements.
  • Responding to internal inquiries regarding various tax-related matters.
  • Reviewing and assisting with the preparation of transfer pricing documentation.
  • Assisting with tax technical research and analysis.
  • Maintaining a tax calendar.
  • Delivering honest, constructive feedback to team members.
  • Assisting in identifying and capturing process improvement opportunities.
  • Working with staff to develop goals and objectives and providing performance feedback.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 7+ years of experience in a large corporate tax environment, preferably with Big 4 firm experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in project management and improvement projects.
  • Experience with TaxOne.
  • Ability to lead a group of professional employees.
  • Capable of delivering honest, constructive feedback to staff.
  • Capable of identifying and capturing process improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work well with others and under minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to perform technical research and willing to teach staff how to perform technical research.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and multitasking.
  • Highly self-motivated, taking initiative, identifying and addressing issues, and working efficiently with attention to detail.

Required education and certifications include:

  • Masters in Taxation or Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA preferred.
