Our company is revolutionizing fraud prevention and chargeback management by bringing transparency and integrity to an industry plagued by unethical practices.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead key technical projects, mentor junior developers, and collaborate directly with clients. The ideal candidate will have advanced proficiency in Python, API engineering, and device fingerprinting. They will be responsible for designing and scaling our API-first platform, automating operational workflows, building reliable data pipelines, and shipping secure services that power flows, dispute handling, and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor junior developers through design reviews, pairing, and actionable feedback.
  • Design, build, and operate RESTful APIs at scale, including versioning, pagination, idempotency keys, consistent error taxonomies, and SLAs.
  • Integrate with gateways, acquirers, and network APIs; model the disputes lifecycle, and build reporting with strong auditing.
  • Design and integrate device fingerprinting and bot-mitigation strategies with privacy-respecting controls and consent.
  • Automate repetitive, error-prone steps across disputes and ops using workflow orchestration and event-driven patterns.
  • Build robust backends using modern Python, performance profiling, and safe concurrency patterns.
  • Design, operate, and optimize high-volume pipelines with validation, retries, backpressure, partitioning, incremental loads, and data contracts.
  • Use SQLAlchemy with relational databases and work with ClickHouse; apply lake/lakehouse patterns for analytics at scale.

Required Qualifications:

  • Native/fluent English language skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python (3.x), OOP/design patterns, typing/mypy, async I/O and multiprocessing, performance profiling, packaging, and testing.
  • Proven experience designing, building, documenting, and operating RESTful APIs at scale.
  • Hands-on experience with payments processing, chargebacks/disputes, reconciliation/settlement, and payment network/vendor integrations.
  • Practical experience integrating device intelligence and behavioral analytics for risk decisions, with privacy/regulatory awareness.
  • Track record automating operational processes using orchestration/workflow tools and event-driven systems.
  • Strong SQL with SQLAlchemy; production experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL and ClickHouse or similar columnar engines.
  • Breadth of languages: Comfort beyond Python with both high-level and low-level languages.

Additional Skills:

  • Risk/fraud systems (rules, features, model serving), KYC/AML, and compliance (PCI DSS, SOC 2).
  • Messaging/streams: Kafka, Kinesis, SQS/SNS; patterns like outbox, sagas/compensations.
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
  • Python web frameworks experience (e.g., FastAPI, Django/DRF, Flask).
