About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to join our team at Varsity Tutors LLC. As a key member of our engineering leadership team, you will be responsible for leading multi-discipline engineers on our Varsity Tutors For Schools engineering team, responsible for the technologies powering our learning systems dedicated to supporting an ever-growing number of students in the US education system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers to design, develop, and deploy scalable and efficient technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver technical roadmaps and strategies.
  • Develop and maintain technical architectures and systems design to ensure high-quality, reliable, and secure systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure that engineering teams are following best practices and industry standards.
  • Identify and prioritize technical initiatives to drive business growth and improve customer experience.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including engineering teams, product management, and business leaders.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, with a strong background in software engineering and architecture.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams and delivering complex technical projects.
  • Strong technical skills in areas such as cloud computing, containerization, and DevOps.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
