Electrical Estimator and Project Manager

Job Description:

This is a highly responsible position for an Electrical Estimator/Project Manager who will lead estimation, contract writing, project management, and coordination on large commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.

The successful candidate will be involved in various tasks including writing contracts and scopes of work, preparing bids, conducting take-offs, specifying details, ordering and tracking construction materials, reading and understanding all kinds of plans, and preparing schedules.

Responsibilities:
  1. Write comprehensive contracts and scopes of work, prepare detailed bids, perform accurate take-offs, specify project details, order and track construction materials, read and understand complex plans, and prepare project schedules.
  2. Visit construction sites and direct foremen; assist the senior leadership team in all construction duties.
  3. Maintain organized construction files and oversee permits with public agencies.
  4. Negotiate with contractors and clients effectively.
  5. Stay familiar with common construction documents, accounting procedures, administration protocols, submittals, processing of change orders, and close-out documents.
  6. Ensure knowledge and application of safety procedures and OSHA regulations, including commercial construction activities, ADA requirements, state contractor's license law, and business management principles.
  7. Direct subcontractors and vendors, both in-house and on site.
  8. Demonstrate extreme attention to detail and strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  9. Work effectively under pressure, multi-task, and maintain a positive work environment.
  10. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Estimating Software such as AccuBid (or related software).
Requirements:Qualifications:
  1. Strong understanding of electrical construction and NECA codes; strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  2. Experience from ground up in electrical construction.
  3. Ability to write scopes of work, prepare schedules, visit sites, and coordinate with leadership.
  4. Experience directing subcontractors and vendors in field settings.
  5. Excellent detail orientation, organizational, leadership, and communication abilities.
  6. Ability to work under pressure and multi-task while maintaining a positive attitude.
  7. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and AccuBid (or similar estimating software).
  8. Safety awareness with knowledge of OSHA regulations, ADA requirements, and business management for commercial construction.
