Job Title: Special Educational Needs Coordinator

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator to lead and manage the provision for learners with SEND across all college sites.

  • Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements and regulations, including the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Support staff to deliver inclusive teaching and learning strategies.
  • Coordinate the Education, Health and Care Plan process and statutory reviews.
  • Use data and evidence to identify needs and track learner progress.
  • Work closely with external agencies, families, and local authorities to achieve the best outcomes for our learners.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

This is a non-teaching role with a focus on leadership, planning, and support. You will work closely with the Head Teacher and wider team to embed inclusive practices across the college.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone with:

  • Qualified SENCO experience.
  • A strong understanding of SEND legislation and EHCP processes.
  • Experience of supporting learners with a range of needs, including those with learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • A proactive, organised, and collaborative approach.
  • Confidence in using data and digital systems to support planning and reporting.
  • A full driving licence and willingness to travel between sites when needed.
