About Our Operations and Procurement Team

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director to join our procurement team at Fortive. This role focuses on managing the procurement processes and team members for indirect spend categories, driving business results and strategic growth.

This position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations, and this is a remote work from home opportunity with flexible office space on demand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders to develop plans that drive business results and communicate progress against that plan.
  • Manage, lead and develop a team of professionals to drive results for the business.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to improve financial results.
  • Capable of interpreting metrics and come up with creative ideas to improve metrics.
  • Engage legal and other internal stakeholders in policy and process updates.
  • Assess, manage, and mitigate risks.
  • Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies for indirect spend categories.
  • Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing.
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes in the market.
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Works very well in both a team environment and independently.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills.
  • Organized, structured and capable of being autonomous.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Have a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, finance or accounting.
  • 10+ years of work experience in operations, procurement, finance or accounting, preferably in a large multinational corporation.
  • Strong preference for candidates with technology backgrounds including IT hardware and or software.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems.
  • Have proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with excellent Excel skills.
  • Ability to gather, analyze and model data.
  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
