About the Role

SAP is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Manager to lead our new Engineering team in Sao Leopoldo. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing team of software engineers, driving the development of cutting-edge applications, and ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a high-performing team of software engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure team members reach their full potential.
  • Lead the development team in the design, development, testing, and debugging of applications, ensuring adherence to business requirements and technical standards.
  • Work closely with Technical Product Managers to prioritize projects, ensure timely delivery, and drive business outcomes.
  • Grow and develop team members, providing opportunities for career growth and professional development.
  • Manage day-to-day activities, focusing on full-stack application development, and ensure the team accurately understands and adheres to business requirements.
  • Take projects from concept to implementation, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree or equivalent in a technology-related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) required.
  • Professional experience in software development, with a focus on long-term dedication to developing application software in Software as a Service (SaaS) distribution models using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Managerial experience, specifically in managing developers in a people manager capacity, with outstanding software engineering experience and previous experience managing engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end solutions from design through delivery, with strong critical-thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a high degree of intellectual curiosity and a lack of fear for learning something new.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with technical product managers, architects, and technical teams across different product areas.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices, compliance, open-source technologies, and frameworks.
  • Good understanding of Backlog planning, with hands-on experience in developing and debugging Java and J2EE applications.
  • Proficiency in web technologies, databases, SQL, test frameworks, secure coding, CI/CD software, server software, and operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of application frameworks, troubleshooting applications deployed in public cloud environments, and deploying applications on Kubernetes platforms.
  • Excellent communication in English.
