Senior Investigator Position in Bacterial Gene Regulation

A highly motivated and skilled investigator is needed to lead research on RNA-based gene regulation in Staphylococcus aureus, a gram-positive bacterial pathogen prone to cause multi-drug-resistant bloodstream infections.
The primary focus will be on small proteins, small RNAs, and tRNA modifications.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute experiments to investigate the role of RNA regulators and stress-response pathways in bacterial adaptation and virulence.
- Collect and analyze data from RNA-protein and RNA-RNA interaction assays.
- Develop and characterize mutant bacterial strains to study their impact on gene regulation.
- Maintain detailed records of experiments and data, ensuring adherence to rigorous research standards.
- Support the preparation of manuscripts and grant proposals to facilitate funding opportunities.
Requirements:
- Doctoral degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Experience in RNA biology and microbial gene regulation, with a strong track record of accomplishment.
- Hands-on experience with relevant molecular techniques, including gene editing and expression analysis.
- Prior experience working with S. aureus or Gram-positive pathogens is highly desirable.
