The Offshore Operations Bosun plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of well and drilling activities on our drillship, West Carina. Reporting directly to the Tool Pusher/Tour Pusher, this individual assumes significant responsibilities in maintaining operational preparedness, adhering to safety protocols, and overseeing the drilling crew.

  • Verification of client drilling programs against organizational requirements is critical for effective operations.
  • Maintenance of organizational training, certification, and competence compliance is vital for the team's success.
  • Active participation in meetings, training assessments, and other assigned activities is required.

  • Directing drilling operations according to the drilling program ensures optimal results.
  • Monitoring well bore conditions and responding to downhole issues requires attention to detail.
  • Safeguarding wells during emergencies or well control situations is essential for preventing accidents.
  • Executing well kill operations as instructed by supervisors is critical for maintaining safety standards.
  • Daily drills, checks, and report submissions are necessary for tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement.
Authority and Accountability:

This role is responsible for enforcing operational preparedness of safety and emergency equipment, performing first-line maintenance, and reporting any non-compliances to their supervisor. As per Corporate and Regional Delegation of Authority matrices, they assume specific authority levels within their scope of work.
