At Expeditors International, we're looking for a talented Software Developer to join our LATAM Applications team within GEO-IS Solutions department. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of developers to support our customers and district operations by designing, developing, and maintaining resilient applications in accordance with our enterprise architectural guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in object-oriented programming and component-based Java development, with experience working in a team environment. They will also be proficient in Agile software development methodologies, code versioning, and CI/CD tools such as Git, GitLab, and Eclipse or IntelliJ IDEs.

Key responsibilities will include providing technical leadership and support for projects throughout the software development lifecycle, collaborating with numerous teams to design secure, scalable, and resilient user-centric solutions, and enabling teams to efficiently deliver quality solutions within committed timelines.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated with a customer service-oriented attitude, excellent time management skills, and professional English language proficiency. Experience with UI/UX concepts, SAFe or Agile certification, and knowledge of the freight forwarding industry are desirable.

  • Design and Develop Resilient Applications: Work with our team to design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient applications in accordance with our enterprise architectural guidelines.
  • Provide Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and support for projects throughout the software development lifecycle, collaborating with numerous teams to design secure, scalable, and resilient user-centric solutions.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate with numerous teams throughout the Expeditors network to design secure, scalable, and resilient user-centric solutions.
  • Enable Quality Solutions: Enable teams to efficiently deliver quality solutions within committed timelines.
  • Assess and Evaluate Development Methodologies: Assess and evaluate current, different, and emerging development methodologies and identify opportunities to reduce technical debt, maintenance, and support.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related experience in object-oriented programming and component-based Java development in a team environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience with code versioning and CI/CD tools such as Git, GitLab, Eclipse or IntelliJ IDEs.
  • Experience with UI/UX concepts, SAFe or Agile certification, and knowledge of the freight forwarding industry are desirable.
