About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer II to join our Brazil Payments team at Amazon Servicos de Varejo do Brasil Ltda. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in enabling a wide range of payment options for Amazon customers in Brazil.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payment Integration: Integrate new payment methods (e.g. local credit/debit cards, digital wallets, bank transfers) into the Amazon platform.
  • Payment Flow Enhancement: Enhance existing payment flows to optimize conversion, reduce friction, and improve reliability.
  • Payment System Maintenance: Ensure payment systems are highly available, secure, and able to handle growing transaction volumes.
  • Code Review and Testing: Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to maintain quality.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and technical debt.
A Day in the Life
  • Collaboration with Product Managers: Work closely with product managers to understand customer needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Payment Provider Collaboration: Collaborate with payment providers and other partners to onboard new payment methods.
  • Code Review and Feedback: Review code changes, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
  • Production Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve production issues, working with the operations team to maintain high availability.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in team meetings to discuss progress, blockers, and future plans.

The Brazil Payments team is responsible for enabling a wide range of payment options for Amazon customers in Brazil. We work to continuously improve the payment experience, increase conversion, and support the growth of Amazon's business in the region. Our team is known for its technical expertise, customer-obsession, and ability to deliver innovative payment solutions.

Requirements
  • Full Software Development Life Cycle Experience: 4+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
  • Computer Science Degree: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
