Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer

Position Overview:

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of software solutions that support our mission and goals. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain applications and platforms that drive business success and improve patient outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and optimization of our platform using PHP/Laravel, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Create database schemas that represent and support business processes.
  • Develop and maintain APIs for internal and external use, facilitating seamless integration with other systems and third-party services.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards by implementing and maintaining robust security measures and data protection protocols.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Mentor junior developers, providing guidance on best practices in backend development, code review, and team collaboration.
  • Stay abreast of new technology trends and evaluate their application to continually innovate and enhance the platform.
  • Participate in the agile development process, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software.
  • Collaborate with the design team to refine the platform's user interface and experience, implementing responsive and intuitive front-end functionalities using modern JavaScript frameworks.

 

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in PHP/Laravel and MySQL.
  • Familiarity with version control tools, preferably Git.
  • At least 5 years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of developing and maintaining scalable web applications.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector or EHR platforms is highly desirable.
  • Ability to tackle complex problems, think analytically, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
