We are seeking a seasoned engineering leader to shape the future of quality in a leading Linux distribution.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will be passionate about quality excellence, with a deep understanding of the open source ecosystem and mission-critical requirements.

As the Quality Engineering Manager, you will work closely with various teams involved in creating the Linux distribution, influencing their practices to improve quality at every step of the engineering process.

Your primary goal is to rethink how a Linux distro approaches quality, combining automation, third-party analysis tooling, community feedback, and internal testing capabilities.

Your team will oversee the development and improvement of the Linux distribution, driving quality excellence and best devops practices across Desktop, Server, Containers, and VMs at package, system, and cluster levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Advocate and advance modern software development practices.
  • Develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices.
  • Setup and maintain continuous integration for all supported deliverables.
  • Define and monitor quality metrics.
  • Develop a team with a culture of high quality and performance.
About You

We are looking for a strong software engineer with a background in Linux and open source, possessing technical knowledge of C/C++, Python programming, Shell scripting, data science, quality processes, and continuous integration tools and principles.

As an experienced engineering manager, you should enjoy growing people and have a track record of leading, challenging, and developing strong engineers.
