Protect Lives and Property as a Firefighter

Firefighters play a critical role in safeguarding lives and property by participating in firefighting and rescue operations. They are responsible for providing fire protection services, responding promptly to emergency calls, and minimizing damage to property.

As a firefighter, your primary duties will include:

• Responding to emergency calls, such as fires and medical emergencies
• Performing search and rescue operations
• Operating fire apparatus and equipment
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Firefighter certification (I and II)
• Airport Firefighter certification
• CPR/AHA or Red Cross certification
• Hazmat Awareness and Operations certifications
• Tender Driver Operator and ARFF Operator certifications
• Confined Space Rescue certification
• Public Safety Tele-communicator I & II certification
• NACI security clearance
• At least 3-5 years' experience with an organized fire department
• Microsoft Office proficiency

Firefighting is a physically demanding job that requires working in hazardous and stressful conditions. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in extreme temperatures. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas.
