Hexagon's Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division (Hexagon) is on the lookout for a Senior Industry Consultant within our Americas group, specializing in industrial facility operations.
In this pivotal role, you will have the unique chance to influence and implement strategies and solutions within the industrial facility operations sector. Your expertise will be crucial in engaging with industry leaders, aligning their corporate objectives with how Hexagon can facilitate transformative changes in their enterprises. You will collaborate with account teams to navigate and address specific challenges faced by our clients. Your thought leadership will be instrumental in tackling the most pressing issues in the industry. Additionally, you will devise methods to monitor customer impact and leverage your insights to enhance the Hexagon engagement model, thereby amplifying the value proposition of Hexagon's industrial facility operations.
You will excel in leading discussions with senior executives regarding their business aspirations. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams throughout program delivery and development, encompassing business development, solutions architecture, marketing, partnerships, professional services, sales enablement, sales operations, and international teams.
The Senior Industry Consultant is a seasoned expert in the management and processes of significant operational facilities, such as refineries or chemical plants (experience in offshore operations is also welcomed). This role involves acting as a consultant to capture, comprehend, and interpret client needs, proposing tailored applications of Hexagon solutions and methodologies. You will conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of clients' operational practices, workflows, and technical environments, providing recommendations based on Hexagon's offerings.
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge in one or more of the following domains:
- Maintenance and Reliability/Integrity Management
- Shutdown / Turnaround / Outage Management
- Plant Operations
- Job Safety and Risk Analysis
- Operational Excellence
- Startup, Shutdown, and Operating Procedures
- Management of Change and PSSR
Required Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate ideas confidently.
- Over 10 years of experience in the operations of production facilities (refining, chemicals).
- Comprehensive understanding of operational and maintenance processes.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements affecting operational plants.
- Experience in Job Safety, Risk Assessment, and PHA/HAZOP Analyses.
- Proficiency with information systems such as maintenance, asset management, reliability, and process historians used in operational settings. Involvement in software implementations is advantageous.
- Knowledge of digital technologies is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years working alongside competitor solutions in a similar capacity or equivalent experience with consulting firms serving the industry.
- Engineering/Business degree or equivalent qualifications/experience.
- Ability to engage and communicate effectively with all organizational levels.
- Exceptional presentation skills, with prior experience in C-Level presentations and customer interactions.
- Maintain a high level of technical knowledge regarding industry trends and Hexagon's solution offerings.
- Stay informed about market developments and technical trends.
- Coordinate sales opportunities with Industry Marketing and Key Account Management teams.
- Identify and develop input on industry-specific needs for sales tools, technical materials, and promotional campaigns.
- Assist in developing sales strategies and messaging that support Hexagon's Sales Methodology.
- Facilitate vision workshops to identify new market opportunities and areas where Hexagon can provide support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience leading technology project implementations in the industrial operations sector, either as a vendor or enterprise user.
- Familiarity with software development practices and various IT infrastructure concepts, including cloud computing and analytics.
- Experience in sales within the technology sector, particularly targeting plant operators.
- Analytical and data-driven mindset, demonstrating a balance of strategic planning and execution skills.
- Business-oriented with an understanding of the complexities of large IT environments.
