The role is part of the United Nations Environment Programme's Economy Division, Energy and Climate Branch, Climate Change Mitigation Unit, Latin America and the Caribbean team.
This consultancy will be home based.
Responsibilities- Support the execution of the project preparation grant process for a GEF-8 net-zero nature-positive accelerator project in Trinidad and Tobago.
- Develop and implement a stakeholder engagement plan, including identifying stakeholders, organizing activities, and preparing a stakeholder consultation report.
- Obtain baseline information, including national and sub-national policies, key stakeholders, institutional arrangements, recent initiatives, co-financing, and financial mechanisms.
- Provide input on barriers and gaps that the project should address, risks to successful project execution, and safeguard-related risks.
- Collaborate with the Ministry and other national stakeholders to review and validate the project document.
- Support the Ministry with preparing, requesting, and following-up on co-financing letters.
- Prepare a gender analysis and action plan section for the CEO endorsement document.
- Contribute inputs for the drafting of the CEO endorsement document as instructed by UNEP and the lead GEF consultant.
- Respond to UNEP, GEF Consultant, Government, and GEF reviews.
