Job Summary
The Credit Settlement Risk Director will be responsible for protecting Visa from settlement losses by identifying and mitigating settlement risk issues. This role will involve analyzing and monitoring existing Visa clients, recommending credit rating assignments, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform annual and interim credit analysis on existing clients to ensure CSR requirements are met.
- Manage contracts related to Trust Structures, including Fiduciary, Escrow Account, FIDC, and Processor agreements.
- Engage with internal and external Senior Management to develop strategies that support industry business growth while addressing risk concerns.
- Respond to ad hoc queries and analytics requirements to support the complex Brazilian regulatory framework.
- Monitor client settlement exposures and portfolio performance, addressing collateral shortfalls promptly.
- Partner with business and functional teams to engage effectively with government stakeholders, fostering sound conditions to operate and maintain compliance with Credit Settlement Risk requirements.
- Diligently monitor client exposures, working with collateral administration to action collateral shortfalls.
- Anticipate client defaults and manage client defaults to minimize risk exposure to Visa by implementing appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure that Credit Settlement Risk issues are adequately identified and mitigated for all Visa products.
Requirements
- 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.
- 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.
- Able to demonstrate understanding in credit analysis and ability to develop processes and controls to provide management assurance of risk mitigating controls.
- Ability to clearly articulate results after analyzing large scales of data to senior management as the basis for making key credit decisions.
- Be analytical, organized, accurate and detail-oriented with fact-based discipline.
- Fluent, both written and verbal, in Portuguese and English.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present clear and concise recommendations to senior management, clients, industry stakeholders and regulators.
- Able to work independently and as part of the team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a changing environment with a high degree of accuracy and detail.
- Ability and willingness to take initiative on new projects and work well in a team environment.
