Role Overview

This role is dedicated to enhancing the governance and risk management capabilities within the GE Vernova organization, specifically focusing on Exception Management. The position involves aiding in the creation, execution, and oversight of governance and risk management exceptions to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with internal teams to guarantee the adherence to the exception management protocol
  • Deliver training and support to staff regarding compliance with exception management
  • Examine and interpret compliance reports and data to pinpoint trends and opportunities for enhancement
  • Stay informed about regulatory obligations and industry benchmarks and their implications for both new and existing exceptions
  • Compile reports for leadership on exception compliance for risk registers, policies, and controls

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in IT governance and compliance
  • 3+ years of experience in Cybersecurity

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience within Vernova segments or business units is highly valued
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as SOX and CMMC
  • Proficiency in drafting and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials
  • Adept at facilitating decision-making discussions that foster consensus
  • Possession of IT cybersecurity and/or risk management certifications
  • Comprehensive understanding of regulatory obligations and industry standards
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities - communicates clearly and concisely, anticipates challenges, and formulates strategies for resolution
  • Capacity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Proactive in defining process enhancements, advocating for change initiatives, and navigating complex situations creatively while managing multiple priorities effectively
