Investment Internship Opportunity

CPP Investments is a global investment organization that invests the funds of the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) to ensure long-term sustainability. We are currently recruiting for an Investment Intern to join our Pool of Interns as part of our Latin America investment team.

About the Role

The Investment Intern will support deal teams in different asset classes to source and evaluate potential investment opportunities, conduct due diligence, develop investment recommendations, evaluate potential deal structures, and perform in-depth financial analysis. The intern will work across different teams, gaining great insight into their abilities, interests, and passions to grow their career at CPP Investments.

Responsibilities
  • Support research and analysis to evaluate and identify investment opportunities, including past and projected financial performance, quality of management teams, investment merits and risks, expected returns, regulatory environment, industry dynamics, and other relevant factors.
  • Support team in performing valuation analysis, including DCF models, precedent transactions, comparable company analysis, and relative value compared with the benchmark.
  • Support team in reviewing third-party due diligence reports (legal, accounting, industry strategic reviews, environmental, etc.).
  • Assist in drafting and presenting investment recommendations, taking into account due diligence and analysis of opportunities.
  • Assist in maintaining financial models for portfolio companies, updating models with quarterly results, updating forecast and valuation assumptions.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and key events.
  • Support ongoing financial performance analyses of industry peers.
  • Assist in evaluating potential exit strategies.
Requirements
  • You are in your final or penultimate year of study.
  • High levels of academic performance and intellectual curiosity.
  • Strong research, analytical, problem-solving skills, ability to think creatively, and willingness to learn.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills in Portuguese and advanced English communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy while meeting deadlines and working under pressure.
