Senior Clinical Team Manager

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a clinical team. The Senior Clinical Team Manager will manage a team of staff working in support of clinical studies to ensure projects are appropriately resourced and employees are trained and meeting project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the management of staff in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations, including planning, assigning, directing work, assessing performance, guiding professional development, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing employee relations issues.
  • Participate in the selection process for hiring new employees by conducting candidate reviews and participating in interviewing processes, ensuring proper onboarding and training.
  • Ensure that staff has the necessary materials, systems access, and training to complete job responsibilities, providing oversight for the execution of training plans, SOP reviews, and training experiences.
  • Allocate resources to clinical research projects by assigning staff to clinical studies based on their experience and training.
  • Monitor the quality of assigned staff's clinical work through regular review and evaluation of work products.
  • Identify quality risks and issues and create appropriate corrective action plans to prevent or correct deficiencies in staff performance.
  • Verify that staff meet defined workload and quality metrics through regular review and reporting of findings as outlined by clinical operations management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or healthcare preferred.
  • Prior clinical trial experience, including experience in a management/leadership capacity or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable clinical research regulatory requirements, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines.
