Technical Support Specialist

This role is a globally distributed opportunity to deliver exceptional technical support services on the full technology stack. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing top-notch support to colleagues via various channels, including phone, email, and web-based systems.

The role involves acting as an internal customer advocate, ensuring timely updates and effective communication with colleagues. Each support case must be handled according to our Service Level Agreement (SLA), with a focus on achieving the highest possible customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will contribute new knowledge base articles and maintain existing ones, sharing expertise and lessons learned with colleagues. They will also draft and distribute technical notices for both internal and external audiences, prioritizing tasks to achieve the most critical objectives first.

Regular communication and information exchange with the team are essential, as well as identifying opportunities to improve service delivery.

Requirements
  • Exceptional academic track record from high school and university.
  • Undergraduate degree in a technical field or a compelling narrative about an alternative path. Preferred majors include Computer Science, MIS, Electrical Engineering, etc.
  • Confidence in speaking up, exchanging feedback, and sharing ideas without hesitation.
  • A track record of going above expectations to achieve outstanding results.
  • Experience with Linux troubleshooting, including collecting logs and stack traces, fine-tuning configuration files.
  • Knowledge or hands-on experience in 2 or more of the following areas:
    • Linux server administration
    • Programming fundamentals in any language (bash, Perl, Ruby, Javascript, C or C++, Go)
    • Networking (bonding, firewalling, bridging, switching, network file system tuning, MTU issues, etc.)
    • Virtualization / Cloud computing concepts (provisioning, monitoring, orchestration, etc.)
  • Ability to learn quickly, thrive in change, and handle pressure in a customer-facing role.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
