The role of a Senior Programme Support Assistant is crucial in ensuring the successful implementation of various projects addressing the protection, assistance, and integration needs of migrants, refugees, and other vulnerable populations. The position involves providing support to enable effective programme management, interacting with senior management, project coordinators, and government counterparts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Development: Provide technical inputs for results-based projects in close coordination with the PSU Coordinator and relevant Project Managers.
  • Institutional Review: Ensure alignment to IOM global, regional, and country strategies by supporting and promoting the use of the Strategic Results Framework (SRF) global results and indicators.
  • Operational Support: Assist with operational and administrative aspects of ongoing projects, proposals, and concept notes, including through PRIMA.
  • Narrative Reporting: Support the development of project narrative reports in accordance with IOM and donor requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Education: A high school diploma with at least 4 years of relevant work experience or a university degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably with UN operational systems, knowledge management, and migration and refugee themes.
Skills:
  • Technical Writing: Proficiency in technical writing, editing, and reporting.
  • Knowledge Management: Experience with knowledge management, PRIMA, and other IOM programmes.
Languages:
  • English: Fluency in English (oral and written).
  • Portuguese: Fluency in Portuguese (oral and written). Spanish is desirable.
