Job Title: Quarantine Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Quarantine Operations Specialist to oversee the safe and efficient entry of new genetic materials into Brazil for research and development purposes.

About the Role
  • This is a unique opportunity to lead a team responsible for ensuring the integrity of quarantined materials, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for defining goals, setting priorities, and supervising overall quarantine operations.
  • They will also lead the operational team, provide training on quarantine best practices, and implement process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. To oversee molecular diagnostic tools for pathogen detection and develop new methods to improve quarantine protocols.
  2. To act as Corteva's focal point for interactions with Brazilian phytosanitary agencies and collaborate with regulatory teams to ensure compliance.
  3. To interact with local and global germplasm movement teams to execute Corteva's strategies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Biology, or related fields; Master's degree preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in plant pathology and strong background in molecular biology applied to plant disease diagnostics.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Portuguese and English.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and compliance-driven.
